Description

This comfortable beer hall, close to La Rambla de Catalunya and decorated in dark shades and varnished wood, is noteworthy for its Montaditos (small pieces of bread with tapas on top), and their Ensaladilla (like potato salad but better), which decorate the bar behind the glass. Their assorted menu of beers - domestic and imported - is also worth a mention. The service is excellent, and the staff, cordial and efficient. They also have a terrace you can enjoy all year round.

Exceptional place, with exceptional prices and exceptional food. Make sure you can book as this is a very busy and popular place!

Best tapas in town!

This restuarant, the Cerveceria Catalana is one of the best places in Barcelona to enjoy tapas. All of them are delicious but if I have to recommend some I would go for the "montadito de lomo with queso brie", the "jamon de jabugo", "pimientos del padron", "mondatido de solomillo", and the pescaditos fritos. You are advised that this is a very popular place (given its location and the quality of the food) so either come early or come later , as in Spain you can go out for dinner at 11pm without any problem.

great food for low price

I have eaten at the tapas bar several times and except for the sometimes long waiting line, everythings is great! While waiting for your table order a rose wine at the bar and you'll be (positively) surprised by the price AND quality! Try the brochetas de gambas, the pimientos con atun, patatas bravas, the mushrooms salteadas, order some tomato bread, and especially do NOT forget to order the crema catalana or the whiskey cake as a dessert!! Definitely worth the calories!!!! For 30 Euros you have a complete diner including wine for 2 people!!!
