Brick Oven Bistro, Boise

One of the city's favorite downtown cafes, Brick Oven Bistro has pleased palates for years. Slow-roasted meats, hand-kneaded bread baked in brick-lined ovens and old-fashioned milkshakes are among the popular choices. Don't let the tray fool you into thinking about junior high school cafeteria food, either. Its selections, such as the Louisiana Cajun Gumbo, Beanery Club and Apple Bread Pudding with Bourbon Walnut Sauce, are more sophisticated than those days. Patio and indoor seating are available.
