Description

Stretching more than 20 miles from Eagle Island State Park eastward to Discovery State Park at the base of Lucky Peak Dam, this paved pathway offers inline skaters, joggers, walkers and cyclists a year-round paved pathway. The well-marked trail meanders through downtown Boise, Veterans Memorial Park, and Julia Davis Park following the serpentine Boise River. Trailside restaurants offer refreshments and people watching opportunities. Once you leave Boise's boundaries, the pathway provides views of rolling brown mountains and wildlife, including herons and bald eagles.

I really enjoyed visitng the greenbelt. It is a very peaceful place. I never wanted to go home!

Take the walk

The greenbelt is a wonderful place to walk, ride bikes, or rollerblade. It's fun for the whole family and very safe. It's located next to the boise river. This is a great place to go and visit for both locals and tourists.

You can't see the city for the trees

When I first moved to Boise from the Columbia River Gorge all I could see were the brown foothills :(, but when I went up on the foothills I couldn't see the city for the trees. It was beautiful. The Boise River Greenbelt is the heart of the City of Trees. It is not just a path through the trees along the river, though that would be plenty. It connects a myriad of parks, museums, memorials, nature preserves and more right in the middle of the city. If there was no other reason to visit Boise, the greenbelt is enough. Even though I live 20 miles away now I still go 2 or 3 times a month to various parts of the greenbelt. It is truly lovely.

Paradise is in Boise - The Greenbelt !

Whats not to like ,friendly people , great senary . We liked it so much we bought a home on the Greenbelt . We will move to Boise for good in Nov 05 . We cannot wait to make the big move. The best part about living on the Greenbelt is - I can't wait to get up in the morning and begin " People watching " the whole town of Boise is out walking , running , biking , rollerbalding , just getting some exercise .They get me inspired to go out and join them many times thoughout the day .It is heaven on earth for us . Thanks to the City of Boise for having the foresight to obtain all the land along the Greenbelt/Boise river area.
