Brunels Tunnel House Hotel, Bristol

A house of much historical interest and actually situated above a tunnel built in the 19th Century by the great Victorian railway engineer, Isambard Kingdom Brunel. At one time the house used to shake slightly as a train passed beneath it, though this happens less often nowadays. An attractive house and situated in an attractive part of the village of Saltford, it's just a few hundred yards from a very scenic part of the River Avon. Some of the old, brightly colored narrow-boats can be seen negotiating the lock which is still operated by hand, just as it was some 150 years ago. All rooms offer en-suite facilities and a very high standard of comfort at reasonable prices.
