Description

Despite its central location, Margaret Island is extremely peaceful. In summer, it is popular with the locals who come here to relax. Rent a bicycle, jog, swim in one of two pools, throw a Frisbee or just stroll around. This was originally a religious center. The ruins of St Margaret's Dominican nunnery are on the east side near the ruins of a Franciscan church. The water tower is a listed building. A very fine lunch can be had in the Ramada Grand Hotel at the north-east end of the island.

a family programme

a great place for a walk, and to have a rest. lovers usually walk there, sit on the benches and kiss, but there are some greater fields, where little children play, families go for a pic-nic... if you go with children it's a great place to spend your day. on the island there's also a little zoo, a japanese garden and a 2 very popular swimming pools: the Palatinus and the Hajós Alfréd.

Margit island Rocks

Margit island has everything for kids, couples, families, or for just a lonely walk. It has pools, a small zoo, a walk way, they rent out bikes, a hotel, a garden, monuments. This place is full of fun. I think everyone should go to margit island atleast once in their life.

A nice get away

Margaret Island is a nice place to visit if you like the outdoors. It's the kind of place you go spend a Sunday afternoon. It's a great place to go to get away from the hustle & bustle of the city.
