The four-star Westin River North Chicago, once a Hotel Nikko enterprise, retains but a spark of its original Japanese flair. Rooms are spacious and modern and really are not all that special for the price until you sit down on the bed. The famous pillow top beds might make it extremely hard to wake up in the morning. In the hotel bar, guests are able to make their own mojitos on weeknights. Located on the Chicago River, the luxurious hotel is near the Merchandise Mart, Magnificent Mile, Loop, House of Blues, and Chicago's theater district.

Peaceful sleep

I stayed here for New Year's eve. The staff was wonderful and the room was excellent. Despite a full hotel, my room was totally sound-insulated.

well worthy of the \"hotwire\" risk!!

we booked this hotel via hotwire and were pleasantly suprised!! it was within walking distance of everything we wanted to see. the room was nice.

Nice room

Great area, beautiful room, spacious and clean. nice colors, nice art work on the walls, and a bathrobe in the bathroom. Of course it was too small for me as I am a large man, but it was still an interesting touch. Great view from the window. Very very nice hotel

Cool place

Great location, friendly staff, and an awesome whiskey bar on the top floor. My only complaint was that the staff tried to clean my room (by just walking in) every morning at 8:00 A.M.

Very Convenient for Business Travelers

I'm currently staying at the Westin during my business trip to Chicago, and I have to give this place the thumbs up. The rooms are well equipped with broadband access, and the amenities are up to par for a top notch hotel. The hotel is centrally located and a convenient walk to the offices (and shopping) on Michigan Ave. Ask for a view of Lake Michigan. It's spectacular!

Great place to stay in the Windy City

The hotel is beautiful and has a great location within walking distance to many Chicago attractions (Navy Pier, Magnificent Mile, etc.). The rooms were large, comfortable and clean. Valet parking at the hotel is $34 a night while the lot that is (literally) right next door only charges $19 a night. I would definately recomend this hotel to anyone headed to Chicago.

Great experience

I booked this room on Hotwire for a Friday night in May of last year. There was no mention of Hotwire when I checked in (always a plus), and the room I was given had a big, cushy "Heavenly Bed", which truly was heavenly. ;-) The room seemed to be a tad larger than a standard hotel room, and the bathroom amentities were also top notch. The room service I ordered arrived promptly, and was hot and delicious and not too outrageously priced. All in all, a great value for a very nice hotel!
