Mur des Réformateurs
Description
This massive and austere five-meter (16.4-feet) tall and 100-meter (328-feet) wide wall runs along one side of the Parc des Bastions, within the University grounds. Its construction began in 1909, the 400th anniversary of Calvin's birth. The wall is dedicated to the whole Reformation Movement and its four leading figures: Jean Calvin (1509-1564), Théodore de Bèze (1513-1605), John Knox (1513-1572) and Guillaume Farel (1489-1565). The texts and figures sculpted in this wall relate 150 years of the history of Protestantism.
We came upon this walking around the park...videoed and took a picture. very interesting & well made. The artwork was a great find for us who were just enjoying the area!
