I liked every bit of the stay at the Grand Hotel! The rooms were clean when we came. Service helped 100%. Also the pool was excellent. My children had a blast, my husband loved the beds.

Try another hotel!

This was a truly disappointing experience. My wife and I stayed here in mid-march 2005. The hotel is very well located, but had little else going for it. Our welcome at reception was excellent and in general, the front desk staff were polite and efficient. The rooms were typical motel type rooms, which were not well cleaned and were poor value at $150 per night. The restaurant was truly awful. The buffet breakfast was poor quality, very expensive, and the staff seemed to have no idea of whether breaskfast was included in our room rate - we were charged different amounts for the breakfast each day - the McDonalds down the street was a better option. Dinner was over-priced and over-cooked - we ate there once and subsequently chose the Best Western across the street and the steakhouse in Tusayan, both of which were much better. The entertainment provided with dinner could have been better if the microphones had worked, but turned out to be corny. Overall, this was a bad experience in a very over-priced hotel - my advice -try the Best Western

Reasonably priced - well located.

Unfortunately, the hotel did not have our reservation which was booked through the Yahoo travel system, though the "Manager's Special" subsequently offered to us actually cost less. We traveled off season, hence room availability. Well-located hotel, 10 minutes away from the Grand Canyon, with authentic entertainment to accompany dinner at the restaurant. Really enjoyed our stay!

grand hotel christmas 2003

We spent 2 nights at the hotel and really enjoyed ourselves. There were 4 of us in the room (2 kids and 2 adults) and it was a bit tight, however, each room has a small patio, which would be great for the nicer weather. The staff was wonderful and the pool allowed the kids to blow off some steam. The food in the restaurant was great, but don't expect it to be cheap. They also had a wandering cowboy entertaining during dinner which we thought was fun. The hotel is a few minutes away from the south rim entrance which was perfect. We were able to get up for sunrise at the canyon without having to get up really early to get there. Even at this time of year there are lines to get into the park. The bar has stools that are topped with saddles, the kids loved it until they were told they couldn't sit there anymore due to the fact they were underage... they were able to sit in the bar area just not at the bar. The hotel staff couldn't be nicer and more informative. On our next trip back to the canyon we will stay there.
