Postcard Perfect
By ,
Everything about Honolulu lives up to the title "postcard perfect". This hotel is no exception. The style it is built in reminds you of a Victorian Honolulu. The staff is very accomodating. Our view of Waikiki Beach through the leaves of the giant banyan tree in the courtyard was amazing.

Great location, terrible room
By ,
The Sheraton Moana Surfrider boasts a fantastic location on Waikiki. It is centrally located on an extremely busy portion of Kalakaua Ave. If you like crowds on both the street and beach this is the place.

Unfortunately, the deluxe ocean front room I had was less than perfect. Firstly, the bathroom is extremely small, with barely enough room for any personal toiletries. Secondly, the room was quite small in size when compared to other hotels in this area. There was garbage leftover from prior guests under the night stand, as well as old voice mail messages from at least the two prior guests in this room.

Based on overall value, I’m not able to recommend this property. There are a variety of other hotels in the immediate vicinity that provide a better return on vacation dollars spent.

Grand Dame

Historically speaking this old lady is a feast for the eyes. One of the oldest next to the Royal Hawaiian this old lady is still great looking. It can not be beat for old world styling. Relax and enjoy a drink under the banyan trees or indulge in high tea, Hawaiian style. Staff is gracious and helpful. It is crowded, everyone wants to come and be a part of her beauty. Rooms in the old wind are small and not too modern. If you want a big room, then stay in the tower rooms, but most come here for her history and know what to expect. I'll always have a place in my heart for this old gem.

Romance Plus Location
By ,
We spent the Christmas holidays in the hotel and couldn`t have been happier with our choice. Beautifully decorated throughout, we found the "spirit of Christmas" surrounding us. Carolers, laughing children, traditionally decorated Christmas trees, everything you could hope for, except snow! Our lovely room was in the original structure, overlooking the pool and beach. Wonderful large walk-in closets, soft linens on the beds, large fluffy towels. True luxury. The restaurants offered buffet dining, grill (beachfront) and menu selection. The food was very good, though a trifle expensive. But remember, it`s the Location! If, as we did, you`ve rented a car, you`ll find parking at a premium. Parking is provided by their sister hotel across the street, and costs about $10 a day. There is no easy way to get to your car, and you have to go through the hotel to reach the elevators to the parking garage. But since we opted to have the car, we didn`t complain. The hotel is across the street from the International Market Place, which offers gifts and clothing from around the world. You are, in fact, in the center of the best part of Waikiki Beach, with everything from the tackiest to the most expensive available. There`s even a Tiffany`s in the hotel. If you want a truly deluxe, memorable vacation, check in at the Moana Surfrider.
