Great Hotel!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/06/2005
Great location for a great price. Right next door to the international market place, it is one of few locations where you can sample a variety of different international cuisines at a very reasonable price. It is a nice change from the fast food joints that seem to be the only other solution if you don't want to spend your vacation budget simply eating, or if you just simply can't stomach anymore Japanese ramen. The PK also houses a very friendly staff that strives to project themselves as one of the more service oriented hotels. During our stay, the batteries in our TV remote died and for that understandable "inconvenience", we shortly thereafter recieved a letter from the Customer Service Manager stating his sincere aplogies. We were then compensated with our choice of two complimentary tickets to their buffet or a Hawaii gift basket. We chose the basket which was packed with Hawaiian goodies such as salted macadamia nuts, chocolate covered macadamia nuts, Kuaui Kookies, passion fruit nectar, and a variety of other snacks. And it doesn't hurt that the PK is located right across the street from Waikiki Beach.

loved it
By Laura, 06/06/2005
ALOHA!
great location, great view, great service. No bugs. All sheratons in area were close by and offered different dining options within all price ranges and plenty of spectacular views. I would go again. There is so much sight seeing, and activities to do at the travel desk or you can take the public bus. Waikiki beach is right across the street is pretty crowded most of the time but thier are plenty of beaches less crowed not too far away.

Beatings in Paradise
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/06/2005
For those of you who want to visit Hawaii, warning! My friend’s son had recently visited Hawaii, Honolulu. This was his first trip to the islands. He had put a $1000.00 deposit down on a place to stay but when he got there, the room was given to a local and they wouldn't and still haven't returned his money. He was constantly refused service at locally owned places. He finally found a room to rent in a house. One of his house-mates was a nurse who worked at the hospital's Emergency Center. She told him that every weekend they would bring in two people who were non-Hawaiian, "beaten to within inches of their lives". A week later, the boy and the nurse went to a luau. When returning to their car, they were encircled by 6 local men and 2 women. They beat him so bad, he was in a coma for two days. He wasn’t expected to survive. He may lose one or both of his eyes. He has 27 stitches in the back of his head and may have brain damage. They kicked him in the face repeatedly while he lay unconscious. They broke both sides of his jaw and crushed the front of his teeth in. They also broke ribs. The locals beat the nurse too but one of the girls stopped them. They left the boy for dead. The nurse also thought he was dead. They are afraid for their lives and will not make a report on this. I found out that none of these stories are being reported. I believe everyone should know what's going on there so they can better prepare themselves while in "Paradise". People are dying just for walking on the beach at the wrong time.

Something was Fishy... and It Wasn't Just the Whores
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/06/2005
The rooms were sorta small and the lobby and elevators smelled like fish. The hotel is on the block where all the hookers set up for business each night so if you leave the hotel after dark you'll surely be propositioned hehe. The location is great tho.

Great location and Value!
By Bonnie, 06/06/2005
We have stayed at the Sheraton PK all three times we were on Oahu from 1997-2003 and found it very enjoyable all three times. The location is about halfway down the main street in Waikiki, great for walking in either direction. Also, it is directly across the street from the Sheraton Moana Surfrider Hotel and about a block from the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel (next to the Royal Hawaiian Hotel) where you can use their pool, beach and charge bar or restaurant bills to your hotel bill. We found the staff to be very helpful and pleasant and the rooms clean and comfortable. We were automatically upgraded being Starwood members. We would highly recommend this hotel due to its central location and value.

very nice hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/06/2005
great place-- good food--- nice rooms--- nice and helpful people, [ lynn-front desk--- thomas-travel desk] were the best, BUT the stay at one play at all is a JOKE... we went to the beach at one of the other sheratons and tryed to use the chairs and towels and we got KICKED OUT, talked to the manager, seems all you can do is get meals at other sheratons and have the bill sent to your hotel thats it!!! this should be explained better ....

A Satisfied Customer
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/06/2005
We had read the reviews, so we knew we had to ask for a room on the tower, in a higher floor, not to listen to the music coming from the pool area at night. Still, we could hear the music very loudly from the 17th floor. We really did not mind it very much , it was nice hawaiian music and when they played HAPA we loved it. Besides, the show ended at 10pm and we never went to sleep before that time. They upgrade us from a partial ocean view to an ocean view room ( room 1760 ). It was great. The room was small, but enough for us 2. Clean room, no complains ..and you couldn't beat the price. Would stay there again and would recomend it to friends.
