Sheraton Waikiki Beach Resort, Honolulu

The location is excellent and the views spectacular. We had ocean-side and had a truly magnificent view of Waikiki Beach and Diamond Head. The staff was friendly and very helpful with recommendations for shopping and local eating outside the hotel. We didn't spend much time in our room except for sleeping and it was more than adequate in size and accomodations for that. The ONLY problem we encountered was that we had a king-sized room reserved and when we arrived, the room had two twin beds. We arrived after midnight, after 15 hours in transit, so ANY bed was acceptable. The staff changed the beds the next morning while we were at breakfast, so it was only a minor issue, if at all.

Great location. Very nice lobby and stores in hotel. However the room was less than I would have expected for its location . Noisy (kids running in the hallway) The bathroom toiletries were supplied daily which was nice, but they did not clean the toilet the whole week we were there.

Stayed for 4 days. The hotel is at a great location. Convenient access to beach and shopping. Rooms are somewhat below average. Old rooms, decorations that need updates, etc. The lousiest aspect of the hotel is the management's attitude and inefficiency. They wrongly booked my reservation and charged me for the wrong dates. It took me two hours waiting in the reception to resolve the problem. A friend of mine told about the ill-treatment meted out to him by the hotel staff when he requested an adapter for his electronic equipment. We got the feeling that the hotel did not really care about its guests.

I stayed here for 2 weeks in October 2002, The staff was great and the experience was wonderful. My father has Alzeheimer's disease and became very sick, but the staff got us in touch with the Doctor and helped us get through it. They even came to check on him throughout the stay. We only got to get out a few days of the vacation, but we could always look out one of our three balconies and watch the beautiful dances being danced by the lovely Hawaiin women! If ever I make it back to Hawaii, I will be staying here!

The Sheraton offers the best combination of location, value and luxury, IMO, on Waikiki. It's right on the beach, AND it's smack-dab in the middle of all the night-life and the shopping. The hotel is a little old and epithets like "as swanky as the Ginza" are probably a little dated now, but it's still fairly well-kept, still fairly handsome. The rooms are a little bit on the small side; the view (if you have a room with one) is great! The pool is spectacularly small. (What were they thinking??!) The beach is okay; tends to disappear at high-tide. Service is okay. I would definitely stay here again.

The Sheraton Waikiki Hotel and Resort is deep in traditional Hawaiian hospitality. When we arrived we were weary travelers seeking a rejuvenating escape and we found the hotel our playground. We found the views breathtaking views of the Pacific, and the silhouettes of the Ko'oalu mountains terrific. Our room was roomy, sumptuous and well-appointed and directly faced the ocean.

We stayed for 4 days. It is extremely convenient, right on the beach, near most Waikiki landmarks (i.e. International Market). Rooms are on the average size, but the lanai views are spectacular. We sat and watched the surfers and beachcombers for hours. Service was great, rooms are clean, but need a little updating.

For the money (I did priceline), this hotel was a great find. It's right on the beach in a great location. Staff was helpful, they have what you need on premise. Afterall, in Hawaii how much time do you spend in your room? Rooms were fine, typical hotel room and I had a balcony. I think most rooms do. They have arrangements with the SPA next door in the Royal Hawaiian. Their luggage room was helpful on my last day as I was able to hit the beach before heading back home.
