Asithane
Description
Housed in a 19th-century Ottoman mansion (now converted into the Kariye Hotel), the Asithane is right next to the Church of St Saviour in Chora. It has a gorgeous summer terrace and an aromatic rose garden. The menu changes regularly. Specialities of the house are typically Ottoman dishes such as Hünkar Begendi (tender braised lamb piled upon a delicious aubergine purée base), fruity meat casseroles, and divine traditional milk-based puddings.
This is nothing like you've experienced before. The tastes here are so unique and delicious that it is hard to even describe. Great menu, moderate prices, very good service.
