Belz Synagogue

Description

The centre for Beltz Hasidism rests in this 24,000 square metre house of prayer complete with a rabbinical court, yeshivah and a ritual bath. The extravagantly designed hall seats 6,000 people highlighted by the 12 metre tall Brazilian walnut ark housing 100 torah scrolls. Equally impressive are the massive chandeliers laced with 100,000 pieces of Czechoslovakian crystal. There is a guard at the gate so entry may be limited during the week. Attend a Shabbat service Friday evening, dress extra modestly and ask someone nicely to take you inside.

Most Beautiful Synagogue ever seen
By ,
This Synagogue is the most beautiful and organized, modern synagogue in our times, from the marble-granite floors, walls and Scrolls Ark made of solid wood, to the most beautiful gigantic chandeliers. It’s hard to get in there for the reason of being closed during the week and open only on Friday nights and Saturday mornings, and on the Jewish holidays for the prayers to pray. It’s very emotional when you see the synagogue full and the sound of the prayers goes straight to your hart.

Breathtaking!

ASTOUNDING! I have never had my breath literally taken away by a building before. It is magnificent, inspirational and serene at the same time. It gives a true glimpse of what the Temple was like. Truly awesome.
