not up to its usual standard
I have just come back from the Lake hotel and I must say after staying there several times in the last few years it leaves a lot to be desired. The hotel has had new bedrooms added and these are excellent but the superior rooms(overlooking the lake) are jaded and in need of updating especially the decor. The room my sister stayed in was of an apricot colour with different coloured paint on parts of the ceiling!! The chef needs to have a look at his menus as the evening meal is maybe too rich for someone who likes a more standard meal. A party of golfers commented to me they would have enjoyed steak and a variety of potatoes and vegetables. The meal we had in the lounge was unbelievable, my pork was so tough I could hardly chew it and my sister and brother in law's chicken maryland was burnt to a cinder. The majority of the waiting staff are unfriendly and unhelpful especially when you complain. Apparently the owners of the hotel were on holiday and it definetly showed!! The only gesture we received was the meal was taken of the bill(after all we couldnt eat it) no mention of a discount price for our next visit (if we ever have one)
