Junk Book Store
With such a name, it is easy to forgive one for thinking that you are going to walk out with nothing but tatty, weathered reading material. However, stepping into this two-storey establishment, you will be amazed at the abundance of good quality reading material you can select. From novels and hardbacks, both in English and Chinese, to back copies of foreign magazines. Most items are second-hand. Prices are higher for books that are in demand.
It is excellent cos books that I can't find elsewhere can easily be found here and the owner and shop assistant are very helpful, friendly, pleasant and know their inventories well. Books are reasonably priced. Books on History of Malaya can be found here too. They also have a wide range of good classic and literature kind of books.
Read an article about the shop in the 'Wall Street Journal' on 01/10/2004. True enough, they have a wide range of books from rare to the recent. It really would take up hours just to browse through, need not worry, books and magazines are neatly arranged.
Pity that I didn't have enough money to buy more, just picked up a few that are hard to comeby and been long lost.
