National Sports Complex
Description
Just 12 kilometers (7.4 miles) south of Kuala Lumpur stands the grand National Sports Complex, which has a seating capacity of 100,000 spectators. This was the main venue for the 16th Commonwealth Games in 1998, the second largest games in the world. The most unique feature is its roof, which spreads over an expansive area of 38,256 square meters (411,784 square feet), built so that spectators will remain dry when it rains. The complex is fully equipped with all the latest telecommunications features and amenities to accommodate the needs of athletes, media and spectators.
