As of the 2000 census, the village had a population of 2,638.The Village of Lake Placid is near the center of the Town of North Elba, 52 mi southwest of Plattsburgh. A group of ICA members will collect rental motorhomes from Cruise America in Washington DC and will focus on a tour of New England to see the magnificant display of autumn colours. Then cross to Canada to include Niagra falls and Toronto, We will return via Gettysburg to return vehicles to Washington. We will be staying mainly on KOA Campsites but will use hotels in New York and Washington to visit famous city landmarks and take in a Broadway Show and a visit to the White House for example.
