Bellagio robbery and other nightmares...

On a recent stay there, here's a small list of what we experienced:
While in the possession of the bellhops after check-in, items were stolen out of my bag, including a brand new $175 MP3 player. After being put in touch with their "Risk Management" office (which apparently sounds better than the more accurate "Crime and Theft" name), I was strongly led to believe that I would be reimbursed for my loss. After leaving the hotel, I was then told on the phone that I would receive a written response from them, but I never did. Now my contact Janet in the Risk Department won't even return my calls. A very clever strategy to tell the customer what they want to hear while they're in front of you, then ignore them once they're gone...
We also reserved a pool cabana well in advance, and even put a deposit down on it. We were told upon check-in that the cabana was "no longer available," which obviously means they just decided to give it to someone they considered more worthy.
We went to lunch at 3:00PM (not exactly peak eating hour) and waited over 40 minutes to get seated in their biggest restaurant. After looking around it was obvious there were plenty of tables, just not enough employees. The place was grossly understaffed. We encountered the same thing on a Sunday afternoon when we were told the fastest place to get something to eat near the casino was a place called "Snacks." We waited over 30 minutes there. Again, it was completely understaffed.
This place doesn't even have a feeder line for check-in and check-out. You just get in one of a dozen individual lines for an associate and take your chances. Virtually every other resort has one.
With all the good choices in resorts in Vegas, why choose this dump?
