Excellent location
By ,
What I liked about the Orleans was the huge pool area and the fact that it was off the Strip. Large clean rooms with excellent service. 7 good restaurants to dine in - especially the Prime Rib Loft - very good service and brilliant menu. The valet parking (free) was superb! Only 1 mile from the strip it was a perfect location for travelling and sight seeing. Yes, I would stay there again!

The Orleans on 4/17/05
By ,
I checked into the Orleans on 4/17/05. I had read in other reviews that this hotel had quick check in service and I was pleased to find out it was true. The staff was friendly and helpful. The casino itself is really nice and quite large. Near the registration desk there are lots of slots, and a couple of places to get coffee and snacks. As you make your way to the rest of the casino you will get a sense of how large this place is. It is well layed out, open and spacious. The smoke in the casino is minimal Much better than most to other casinos. Dealers, waitresses were all very nice and I really enjoyed the table games. The slots seemed a little tight. I can't say I saw anyone hitting any jackpots, and there did not seem to be many employees attending the slot areas. The room itself may very well be the best feature to the hotel. First of all it was by far the best deal I could find in terms of price (there are some dumpy hotels downtown that may be cheaper, but certainly not a better value). The room was very big, extremely clean and appointed nicely. The bed was firm and comfortable. Everything seemed brand new to me. The housekeeping staff seems to do a nice job maintaining the place. There is a hairdryer and ironing board in the room and that too is a nice little extra. Bathroom is large and looks very nice. I was really impressed! I stayed at the Golden Nugget a few months back and this place was nicer. In fact I have stayed all over Vegas in the last few years and I think The Orleans meets or exceeds pretty much all the main line hotels (Harrahs, Flamingo, Ballys, etc..) The only negative I see is that it is off the strip. But for me it was no big deal as I had a car to go other places. We went from the Orleans to Harrahs in less that 10 minutes. They also have a shuttle, but I did not use it so I have no opinion on it. All in all you will not reget staying here. This is great hotel and it will be my hotel whenver I visit Vegas. Don't let the fact that it is off the strip deter you. It will not be an issue for you. I found these reviews to be helpful so I hope this helps others as well.

A Good Time Was Had By All!!
By ,
Had our first trip to Vegas in March 2005 and loved it! The Orleans was one of the reasons why our trip was so great. It is clean, spacious, friendly, good food and economical. It is close to the strip with free shuttle service, but not in the middle of the "hub-bub" of it all, with quiet, dark, large rooms for easy sleeping all hours of the day or night. When we go back, the Orleans is our first choice!

Vegas best secret- the Orleans.
By ,
The Orleans is wonderful- we go to Vegas at least once a year and stay a few days at the Orleans and then a few at the Nuggett downtown. Orleans is one of Vegas's best secrets. Large rooms- must better value than the strip. We learned our lesson about strip rooms- they are a tourist trap. Our home while in Vegas!

Nice stay!!!
By ,
Good parking facility. Restaurants are really good. The coffee house was horrible though. Rude counter guy and LONG lines in the morning. Good location though, right next to valet. I would stay there again.

Can't wait to go back
By ,
Convenient location, nice decor, plenty of gambling, nice dealers, not very smokey smelling, spacious rooms. Rooms need a makeover though, sorta old decor in the rooms.

Rooms were small but very nice.

Bath has tile floor, granite counter. Room has upper level feel, very nice. Will definately check The Orleans first next time! Came with fun book that has a few free drinks and discounts.

Bad time in February
By ,
Like several smaller off strip hotels. This one grew and grew until it became a big hotel, and with the growth came the disgruted employees, probably overworked in relation to what they had to do just a couple of years ago, and the food which used to be GOOD, doesn't even rate a fair anymore. It's definitely BAD! Nothing much around within walking distance, so they got a locked audience. All the machines have also tighten, very, very tight. Oh well, somebody has to pay for all that expansion. I've stayed at this hotel many times since it open, and the early stays were great, but it appears now they're just trying to live off their old ratings.

Orleans great place.
By ,
This was my second time to stay at the Orleans. It is a great place, clean, friendly and a great price. What more could you want? The rooms are very roomy. Catching the shuttle to the strip is not a problem.
