Starwood needs to take a close look at this place
I spend 2 to five nights a week on the road, and tend to really like Starwood properties. Over the last few months I have spent a few nights at the Gateway Sheraton, so this review is not from an inexperienced traveler or based on a single bad experience. Over my last few stays I have been treated rudely by the folks that work at the Lobby Bar, the folks that answer the phone at the guest request desk and by the front desk staff. On my last stay I spent 3 hours trying to get internet access to my room, finally they offered me another room, which would be fine if it was not a smoking room. In the end the best that they could do was let me check out and drive down to the Long Beach Westin. Of course they wanted to charge me for the night. Do the right thing and try the Westin down the street, good hotel and nice folks.
