University of Santo Tomas
Asia's first university, the University of Santo Tomas (UST) was founded in 1611, antedating Harvard, America's oldest institution of higher learning. UST was located inside Intramuros but moved to its present site in 1927 to accommodate the growing student body. The front campus is distinguished by large tracts of lawn, an arc de triomphe and two circular fountains. At the far end stands a medieval-looking structure topped by a huge clock tower and statues of saints, philosophers and great writers. A leisurely walk will take you past different colleges devoted to the humanities, sciences, arts and music.
When I first visited the place it was like "Oh my this school is huge and beautiful from the buildings and the environment" I absolutely like it. The buildings have rooms that have aircons. There is also a museum in the Main Bldg, which is kind of amazing since lot of stuffs are in there may it be from stones, animals, religion stuff. :D The Library is big too and there are lots of computer with internet too, Lots of reference books can be find in the library. :D I had fun visiting the university.. ;) Plus there is a big area for sports :D
I did not like the environment of the University of Santo Tomas. The university is placed along Espana Avenue and Dapitan Avenue, where traffic always occurs. The vicinity is jam-packed with thieves and unlawful individuals. Pollution is everywhere. The university is not conducive for learning since noise pollution is distracting the classes during the day.
