Every aspect of The Peninsula New York a posh Midtown hotel has been designed to make you feel pampered. Business travelers will appreciate the executive workstations, along with direct-line faxes in every room. As a bonus, enjoy a dip in the indoor swimming pool and exercise in the spacious Peninsula Spa The soothing and warm-hued lounge serves afternoon tea, and the rooftop bar has wonderful city views. The Fifth Avenue address means shopping and entertainment almost at your doorstep.
The Peninsula New York is very conveniently located on Fifth Avenue. Our spacious and well appointed room was quiet and had a great view. We pampered ourselves in the spa. The lap pool which overlooks Fifth Avenue was a great perk. One of the best meals on our trip was a quiet dinner we had via room service. An all around service oriented hotel.
I stayed one night in this glossy "Big Apple" hotel only to discover it had a worm in it. Yes, the rooms are clean but the internet photographs and room descriptions are misleading, as is usually the case. I experienced incomplete service, miscommunication between staff members and to top it all off, they misplaced my car and luggage. How this hotel got it's five-star rating is beyond me.
Excellent location on 5th Ave, 2 block from Central Park. Very fancy and techo rooms that covers all the way to the marble bathroom. The design is NYC and European favor. I didn't have to pay a penny for wireless internet and local calls. Also I enjoyed the pool and fitness center. The roof top bar is very nice to hang and enjoy the city view. Only downside is the small window view for some rooms. If you like small, clean, modern and privacy then this would fit you.
My boyfriend and I came to NYC for the weekend to celebrate our anniversary. Because it was a special occasion, we decided it was worth going all out. Enter the Peninsula. Beyond a doubt, the nicest hotel I have ever stayed at (my prior pinnacle of fanciness was the Ritz-Carlton in Half Moon Bay). The hotel is in a historical landmark building, which I like, but it has the latest technology in all the rooms. An amazing bedside panel controlled everything from climate control to music to the "do not disturb" sign (which got plenty of use). Just gorgeous, the most romantic weekend ever. At these prices, you won't be able to do it often, but that's what makes it all the more special.
