Dundrum Castle is the most spectacular structure and famous for its massive stone circular tower, high walls and panoramic views. The building dates back to 1177, although the foundations were built on an Iron Age earthworks. The keep was part of the strategic defenses of the east coast built by John de Courcy who led the Norman invasion of Ulster in the 12th Century.
