Murlough National Nature Reserve
Description
Northern Ireland's most spectacular mountain range is the Mournes. Rugged cliff faces, rock screes, reservoirs, black water rivers and the highest mountain in the province, Slieve Donard, provide a Mecca for walkers, campers, rock climbers and joggers. The Murlough National Nature Reserve is Ireland's premier nature reserve set in the heart of Mourne. It maintains the coastal and mountain paths to Donard and provides access to the Glen River and Bloody Bridge River Valley. Seasonal guided wildlife walks are available with the Murlough warden, offering glimpses of rare species of butterflies, wild flowers and even seals.
