Oatlands
Description
Less frequently visited than Ross and Richmond, a working rather than a tourist town, visitors will still find plenty of attractions in Oatlands. Historians and lovers of architecture will be delighted to discover a main street with 87 historic buildings. There is nowhere else in the country with more Georgian sandstone buildings, ranging from workers' cottages to fine houses. The town's unmissable landmark is the Callington Mill, which is undergoing restoration. The surrounding farms produce fine merino wool and the Casaveen knitting mill in the town's high street uses the local product to produce fine garments.
