During the July 4th Holiday, my family and I spent 7 days at the Savoy as we visited the city of Washington. To start with the goods, the hotel has free parking. You can leave your car and take the hotel shuttle to the nearest Metro stop. The rooms had this colonial look. They were clean. The beds were at the right firmness. The staff was great. They offer room service. The maids came each day to clean the room and provide new towels. I don't know about you but at most hotels when you stay extended stay the maid doesn't come to the end of the week. The community was quiet. You are walking distance from the Georgetown shopping area. The rooms also provide a kitchenette. There is no oven but there's a 2 range stove to cook along with a microave, sink, and mini frig. The hotel also offers laundry service. If you care to do it on your own, they also have washers and dryers you may use. The washing powder is also available for purchase. The Shuttle Bus stops in front of the hotel. Another great feature was the deck. Guest at the suite were able to sit outdoors and enjoy dinner or a nice drink. Don't forget breakfast, my family and I had free coupons to eat breakfast and it was ample. The breakfast served also as a lunch for us. The all american breakfast consist of eggs, potatoes, fruit, toast, and juice. They also served pancakes, yogurt, oatmeal, cereal, and bowls of fruit. The hotel had some renovation going on but that was not a disturbance in our stay. The only disturbance was a family that booked the place for a family reunion. The staff was friendly and helpful. So I hope you enjoy your stay at Savoy if you can not get a place there then try Carlyle suites their sister hotel. It is just as great!
