05 Jun 2005 | A Yahoo! UserMy family stayed in the Fairmont Olympic over New Year's Eve/Day 2002-2003. We lived in Bothell at the time, but we wanted to enjoy the festivities of downtown Seattle and stay in the immediate in a nice hotel, and the Olympic was the perfect choice.
Our party of our had two rooms. The beds were amazingly comfortable and the bathrobes and towels luxuriously thick and soft. The hotel's wraparound shape meant our view was of the western wing of the building.
The hotel's public spaces are beautifully decorated, and the staff was endlessly helpful. We noticed the towel rack in one room's bathroom was detached from the wall at one end. A brief call to the front desk and a maintenace worker appeared a few minutes later. He was friendly and efficient, fixed the rack in no time and checked all the other fixtures to make sure everything else was just so.
The hotel's central downtown location made it easy for us to get anywhere on foot, and the valets were wonderfully helpful with directions and suggestions for events and activites.
Easily among the top three hotel experiences I've had in my entire life.
From the moment you step in the beautiful lobby, welcomed by the friendly staff and are seen to your room, you feel like you have stepped into a beautiful sanctuary worthy of taking your eyes off the natural beauty outside. The well appointed rooms are classy and immaculate. The staff friendly and oh-so-accommodating. But the absolute best part about the Olympic is the dining experience in the renowned Georgian Room. This spectacular setting is ideal for a fairytale wedding or a speacial dinner for two. While the surroundigs are formal the waitstaff make you feel relaxed enough to enjoy every aspect of this indulgent experience. Head chef and pastry chef duo create an absolutely sublime experience not to be forgotten.
