The Westin City Center is in the east end of downtown at the edge of the Arts District. Like others in the the Westin group, this property is known for blending high European standards with individual appeal. The sophisticated international atmosphere is warmed by Texas-style friendliness and a genuine concern for travelers' comforts. The hotel is connected to a 15-story atrium with ice rink, shops and a food court. The hotel is also minutes away from Neiman Marcus and many major office buildings.

We had a very comfortable room here. However, they were just beginning to install broadband access (spring 2004), and what they had was not working during our stay. I tried using their complementary business center for access, but that didn’t work well either. So, unless they have fixed this, it’s not a good stay for a road warrior who needs to work online. The restaurant was okay for breakfast, but not great, and expensive. The location is good, however, and there are several better restaurants in the complex. There’s ice skating downstairs, if that turns you on.
