I understand that European Hotels tend to be more expensive and the rooms smaller than U.S. Hotels and I was not expecting too much when we booked the room for two days at the end of our Baltic Cruise. The room was indeed small, smaller than the cabin we had on the ship as was the bathroom. The hotel in clean, uninspired and the staff mostly pleasant.
The main problem was the courtyard. In photos of the hotel, one will see nicely dressed people in the courtyard having cocktails. The truth went like this, at 4:30 am we awoke to a group of homeless man drinking and laughing in the courtyard. This went on for a half an hour until they dispersed.
The main plus for this hotel is location. Walking distance to the Town Hall, Tivoli, Carlsberg Brewery and many other sites. If location is you main concern, you might consider this hotel. Otherwise, try the Sophia Amalie.
