This landmark edifice, built by renowned architect Robert Adam, provides traditional and luxurious 19th century-style accommodation. Very disappointed - we though we were in for a treat, considering the cost.

Although this hotel is located near to the centre of Edinburgh, we still don't think the cost was justified. Our room was very small and so hot we could hardly breathe with no real luxuries to report on. Breakfast was buffet style with the usual choices available at much cheaper hotels, again, apart from the service which was good, nothing noteworthy to report on.

Disappointing

Was given a small, grubby room with only a skylight. Very disappointing.

A good, older hotel

We enjoyed the Roxburghe. It is located in a good spot, in the newer portion of town, just a few minutes walk up the hill to the Royal Mile. The rooms were smaller and the bathrooms in our rooms were split with the sinks in the main rooms. This seemed to be due to the age of the hotel, but all in all it was a nice place to stay.
