Why would you want to go to Sun Island? If you want perfect weather (constant breezy 30C), warm water, clean quiet white sandy beaches, fantastic food and you are comfortable in your own company (there is NO, I repeat NO entertainment provided), Sun Island is a paradise. The beach view houses have good air conditioning, are in shade under threes, about 10 metres from the beach, each has their own wood deckchairs with mats and towels. There is an army of ladies cleaning the island 24/7, they even spray the island so that you do not have to use insect repellent! Snorkelling is decent on the island, reef is mostly dead, but plenty of fish to see. Boat goes to live reef (20 min drive) almost every day for $20. The island has mobile signal, internet cafe, good sport activities centre, diving centre, basic shops and provides the usual trips. The staff are pleasant to friendly with no attitude. Handy tips: unless you are a heavy drinker it makes no sense to book all inclusive, if you change your mind, you can always upgrade to all inclusive for half the price once you are there. Rooms have a kettle, but they charge you $2 for each tea bag - bring a box of tea and coffee bags with you, you will spend a lot of time sipping coffee and watching sunset. They do not use money, you sign for everything and pay at the end of stay with credit card or cash. But you will need two $1 bills for the luggage boys - they will not leave unless you give them a tip, also it is customary to give $10-$20 at the end to room boy and staff that you were happy with.
