This hotel is famous for being one of the locations in Alfred Hitchcock's classic thriller Vertigo. However, it is much more than a film location. It is a venerable San Francisco institution whose history stretches back more than 75 years. The decor is classically luxurious with furnishings in the guest rooms that are comfortable and in warm autumn tones. The Empire Plush Room, accessible via the lobby, is a premier cabaret spot in the city.

Great coffee and plenty of food at the continental breakfast. \nOnly negative was bathroom faucets were very hard to adjust between hot and cold, these should be replaced. \nVery good and friendly staff.
06 Jun 2005 | A Yahoo! UserThey could not assist me during the first night with a room with two beds eventhoe I called, ask and paid for that type of room and one of us had to sleep in the floor for one night and the rooms was very small, it was difficult to walk through that room. I'm very disappointed and I will remind this experience for ever and I will make sure to never recommend this hotel
06 Jun 2005 | A Yahoo! UserAny other hotel in San Fransisco must be better than this one. We were attracted by the low price, and unfortunately, got what less than what we had expected...bad location and a rude staff. I will never recommend this hotel to anyone.
