Bullfighters and their entourage like to meet up for drinks in the neoclassical-style public rooms that have been tastefully decorated with classical columns and attractive wall-hangings. The spacious and comfortable bedrooms are painted in warm and welcoming colors. The hotel's restaurant, Goizeko Wellington, serves modern and fusion Basque dishes. The English bar specializes in cocktails and the cafe has an attractive terrace-garden. This five-star hotel is located in an upmarket district where there are lots of good shops, and it's close to Retiro Park and the Puerta de Alcalá.

I telephoned this hotel from San Francisco at 6:35pm (San Francisco time) to reserve a room & also asked how many streets from the hotel to the nearest subway station. The reservation person did not want to help me reserve a room or answer any of my questions. He told me to telephone the hotel again between 1-3am (San Francisco time).
One would think that a luxurious four star hotel would have reservation staff available any time day or night, taking into account that travelers may be telephoning the hotel from anywhere in the world & not necessarily in the hotel's time zone. One would think that luxurious also means first class service even if it's by telephone.
Needless, to say, I did not telephone this hotel again & did not reserve a room.
