Gubener Strasse 42, Berlin, 10243, Germany…
More and Maps
The strange sounding name "Upstalsboom" comes from the old North German word for the large tree in the middle of a village which travellers tied their to horses at the end of a hard day's ride. In Berlin, this tree is situated close to the Ostbahnhof train station - for those arriving by train rather than on horseback. The rooms in this modern hotel are not particularly spacious, but are comfortably furnished. There is also a sauna where exhausted travelers can recuperate.

Great hotel, rooms nice size and tastefully decorated, nice bar. In a bit of a student\punky area which seems strnge for a classy hotel, but theres nice restaurants nearby. The (female) staff in the breakfast room are very surly and give you daggers when you ask for a coffee as if its a big demand. Even though I peak German thy talk down to you and make you feel like a thick tourist. that aside though, the breafast is spot on!
