Halloween this year sits at the end of the kids October half term, so if you are planning an end of season break, why not marry it up with a magical Halloween experience the whole family can enjoy?
Marie-Jeanne Morvan, Senior Editor at Yahoo! France, spent a couple of days at Disney, experiencing their Halloween spectacular, here are her top 10 reasons why it's a must see.
1. Disney with a twist: The entire resort has been decorated with pumpkins, and your favourite Disney Villains trick-or-treat their way around with pumpkin men and, various attractions have been given a spooky twist including, Minnie's Halloween party train, and the Disney villains later join in the parade
2. The not-so-scary Halloween party: a party with less frights and more delights! Mickey an Minnie are dressed to party, and welcome you to their own fancy dress party where its all about treats with sweeties given out to guests at the end of the show. Mickey and Minnie will be throwing these parties between 8pm and 11pm on the 16 th , 23 rd and 27 th October
3. Free food: Not only can you stay at Disneyland Resort Paris hotels from £175 per adult, but kids under 7 stay free, and all meals are free too! Offer available for bookings before 5th November 2009 for arrivals up until 1st April 2010. Read more
4. Free Eurostar for kids: Eurostar have teamed up with Disney to ensure that children under 7 can travel free. Read more
5. Sweets: Disney characters will distribute treats at the end of the shows during the Not-so-scary party but if you are a real treat lover, two shops in the castle courtyard, contain all the treats of your dreams.
6. Witching hours: if you're staying at one of the Disneyland resort hotels, you can enjoy up to 2 hours extra in part of the park before it opens to the general public
7. Fancy Dress: Shopping at Disneyland for the best Halloween costume is just part of the fun. Just name the character you want to be dressed as, and you'll find the perfect outfit in on of the numerous shops
8. Little ones: All kids will enjoy it, even the really little ones! They are invited to magical shows and attractions such as Playhouse Disney live on stage, Stitch Live, Animagique, Cars race rally, (to name a few)
9. Big Kids: the thrill seekers won't miss the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Crush Coasters, Rock'n'Roller Coaster featuring Aerosmith. With the fast pass it's easy to avoid long queues, and for parents, you can make use of baby switch while the first parent is riding, the second one watch over the little ones and he or she doesn't have to queue to ride when the first is back
10. Magic: It was my first stay at Disneyland Paris and I felt very emotional when I saw the characters dancing, it reminded me of my childhood. My little ones (aged 2 and 13) were bewildered I am sure we are not alone, the Disney experience can not fail to make you tingle, whatever your age!
