Wonderful architecture - Washington Square Arch, the Mews (look at a map), NYU- small, intimate less-expensive restaurants, trendy boutiques, Italian bakeries and culture blends this far north, musicians and clubs, great movie theaters for classic and avant-garde films, off-Broadway theaters. Be aware of Christopher Street which is a "historic" gay community.

Greenwich Village is close to everything. From SoHo to the Spice Market. Of course, Gray's Papaya where you find the best hot dogs in the world. The only problem I can think of (and that required a lot of thinking) is parking. However, it is easily acceseable by subway!

If your really looking to have an awesome time in NY you must visit "the VILLAGE". OMG! What an experience! There are tons of little boutiques and fun places to just hang out and eat. The people are very unique and eclectic, and you feel like theres always a party going on everywhere you go. I LOVE THE VILLAGE and i make it my business to go there and visit whenever i am in NY.
