Muir magnificence
Amaze yourself with the splendor of ancient nature...take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city...get there early and get in for free and avoid the crowds. Pack a lunch and some good hiking shoes...excellent souvenir shop

It is a nice little redwood grove. But if you really want to see some go to S. Cruz Co. and Big Basin or Henry Cowels.

This probably the most delightful thing other than wine country in Northern California. People who live in the bay go there at least one a week....great place to cleanse your body....i highly recomend a visit especially if your under some stress or have been recently..just go and let your self become a part of this magnificent attraction...it will change you.... A must see... it is a tragedy that this is the only thing left after the lumbering of the days of old. I believe that there are only certain redwoods that grow there and now where else...do go relish this. I used to be a staunch republican turned democrat but now I am looking towards the green party after this experience it will make you want to do something about conservation and green growth.

The Redwoods are truely beautiful but if you really want to be impressed by their size go the forest that is close to Eureka,CA. The Muir woods look like babies in comparison. Gift Shoppe was retardedly expensive when it came to the souveniers made of the redwood burl. It was pretty though. Don't go with a tour company, they don't give you enough time (1 hour)to take in the forest and the gift shoppe too, rent a car for this tour and remember to check out Sausalito on the way back to San Fransisco. Tour company only gave 45 minutes in Sausalito to have lunch and pick up a few souveniers, there are way to many shoppes and eateries to look at in 45 minutes.

Do not miss this if you at all into the beauty of nature. It is awe inspiring. It's impossible to explain the feeling of being among the redwoods in such a spectacular setting.

Went there on a side trip from S.F. It was breath taking. The over all serenity was unbelievable. The rode getting there was a small challenge for me. I come from the flat plains of Southern Illinois. I would do it again the next time I am in the area.

Enjoyed the lovely trees...just knowing they were there for 1000's of years. If you've never seen redwoods, just do it!
