Nice place to live, the food sucks.
Albany has a rich history as New York's capital city. But it lacks character now and like so much of America has disintegrated into suburban sprawl at best, urban blight at worst. Some revitalization has come to areas such as Washington Park, Lark Street, and Pearl Street but most of Albany lacks the excitement of true urban life. If you have to come here for school or work do so. Otherwise skip it and head to Saratoga Springs.
