On the recommendation of the great guys at The Winding Stair, we headed to The Mermaid for Sunday brunch. We weren't disappointed! The menu presented was extensive and contained just what we needed on a Sunday morning after a “night before”. With its comfortable and relaxed ambiance, we felt no real urgency to move on other than to sadly head off to the airport to catch our flight. The staff are a happy & contented bunch of people who seemed pleased to tend our every need. I am finding it hard to be negative but my only grumble is that I ordered a glass of juice which never made it in time to accompany my main course but the ample jug of water sufficed until its arrival. When we next visit Dublin, we will be sure to book into the Mermaid for Sunday Brunch. Value for money 4 ˝ out of 5 Quality / Flavour of food 4 ˝ out of 5 Service 4 out of 5 Location 5 out of 5

(Report Problem)We live near Belfast (just over a 100 mile drive) and have been to The Mermaid several times during stays in Dublin, and once when we drove down, just for the day to have lunch...and yes, it was worth it! The wine list is excellent and reasonably priced and the food is simply superb. Our first visit was quite by chance and we were impressed by the simplicity of the surroundings but the overwhelming quality, exquisite taste and inventiveness of everything we ate. I do recommend booking so that you aren't disappointed, as it is a busy place. Don't expect to make it to Temple Bar to drink afterwards, as you'll be too full!! Three courses are a must as the deserts (with homemade ice cream are to die for). Hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

(Report Problem)From the minute we walked in the door, the evening was a fantastic experience and we cannot wait to go back. The tuna and black sesame seeds was amazing-a sublime experience. Large portions, so don't overeat before you go!

(Report Problem)With so much affluence which begets effluence throughout Dublin restaurant scene the Mermaid offers Excellent, flavoursome generously portioned food in a relaxed environment served most graciously and efficiently by very friendly staff. Other than that ... average !!
