Hi, I had booked this hotel as part of my honeymoon. When we first checked in my husband said this room is so small. We opened the curtain, and to our surprise, we found a dirty possible bloody paper towel. We then pulled back the comforter to take a nap, since we drove from LA and what did we find, an empty condom rapper. Also, someone tried to enter our room and the electronic key had worked-- thank goodness, we had secured the latch. When we went down to the front desk to complain, the front desk had said that wae were the ones that made the mess. When I was at the front desk, another guest had told me that they heard everything the next room was doing all night long. The hotel was nice to look at not nice to stay at what so ever. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. I go away four weeks a year and have never had such a bad experience at any other hotel

Service and location were great. Getting charged $12 a day to use the fitness center is a joke. When you pay over $200 to stay somewhere, being charged to workout at the hotel's gym is ridiculous. Never had that happen at a Ritz, Hyatt, or Four Seasons -- was shocked it happened at the St. Francis. The towels in the bathroom were also not soft -- felt more like workout towels. Place is beautiful, however.

The staff and management of the Westin are the finest I've ever been associated with. Their friendliness and courtesy are unmatched. If I could describe my overall experience at the Westin in one word, it would be simply "Marvelous".

by far my least favorite of the in town "4 star" hotel rooms. The room is a 3 star at best. Unlike the San Francisco Marriott where I look forward to staying, this hotel I dred. Snotty check in staff who charged us an additional $34 to accomidate us. The room was over looking the street so we were woken by loud car horns early in the morning.

The Westin St. Francis has all the charm of old San Francisco mixed with the excitment of the 21st Century. With its central location in the theater district and adjacent to Union Square, you are within walking distance to some of the finest stores, restaurant and entertainment San Francisco has to offer. With Chinatown and the Civic Center only blocks away, you have access to all the culture that makes San Francisco one of the most favorable vacation spots in the United States. After a long day of sightseeing come back to your room equipped with the finest beds available anywhere. Enjoy the spa and conditioning facilities and finish your day with a relaxing massage and beauty treatment. Our stay there was magnificant. I whole heartedly recommend the Westin St. Francis for your next trip to San Francisco.

I was very much looking forward to staying in this hotel after colleagues had commented on what a beautiful hotel it was. From the time I arrived, it got off to a bad start with the confusion as to which door I had to enter to get to check-in. Check-in was very fast, and staff were satisfactory in their service. The room itself had a musty smell of stale smoke, even though it was supposed to be a non smoking room. The noise of the banging water pipes from the room next door when they turned their taps on was very loud and distracting. On the whole, would not stay there again as I was very disappointed, would opt for something newer next time. The only really good comment I have to make is that the bed was wonderful.

The hotel is a classic and it has maintained its quality. I like the charm of the older wing. The only thing that I did not like was the new seating in the front lobby which was crowded with tired shoppers.

Cool history of the hotel makes the stay unusually memorable. Bed was fantastic. However, the bare lightbulb in the bath and remarkably dirty air vent did remind me that there is a price to pay for paying a lower price!

The hotel was decorated nice but seemed old as you walked the hallways to get to the room and then again once in the room. The bedding was great, shower was nice. They pride themselves on that according the thier survey. The Oak Room restaurant was overpriced and the food (breakfast) was terrible. Location was very good.
