THEFT!!!

one star

We booked to stay bank holiday weekend. After checking in at half 4 we decided to have a wonder round brighton. We were only gone for 2 hours and our THINGS IN OUR room had been STOLEN!!!!! The door had not been forced, so someone WITH A KEY had helped themselves to about £1000 worth of our stuff!!! When we reported it to the staff they were so so UN HELPFUL!! the police are investigating, i have seen reviews on other sites where the same thing has happened!! Do not stay in this dirty, theif ridden place!!

What a sh** hole!

one star

After the 2 hour journey and the high expectation of a sea view room (booked), we were told our room wasn't available and that an alternative had been given. We arrived to a box room with the air con not working but dripping off the ceiling and mould on the wall, the nets, yes nets and curtasins hanging off the rail, no TV reception and the outside air con unit under the window that sounded like a 40 a day smoker was asleep under the window! The bed was two singles pushed together and had a travel blanket and bedspread. This was described on their website as luxury and elegance. It is if you are a stray dog at an RSPCA shelter! We were offered a bottle of house wine by the non chalant receptionist, which arrived with two cracked and dirty wine glasses. Breakfast was even a disaster as there was limited amoun ts of everything an hour into service.I am sure they scrambled their eggs in the same pan they boil their tea towels. They have made progress on the outside but anything past the ground floor is a let down. Finally be aware of the railing between floors 2 and 3 as the knob at the top of it comes off in your hand and you may end up at the bottom of the stairs quicker than you thought

Avoid at all costs

one star

Never ever again, dirty, in the bathroom there was a cotton bud on the floor with ear wax on it Ugh!!!. room cramped, noisy, whole place needs a refurbishment, food dreary, if you wanted a fried egg with breakfast you had to order it even though a buffet bar system. If going to Brighton and you have a choice of sleeping rough under the pier or using 'The Royal Albion' sleep under the pier. Don't bother writing to complain they will ignore your complaints would have given no stars if option was there

never ever want too go back

one star

Lift was not working. Group of somewhat 'elderly pensioners' and no offer of help. Some on the third floor. Rooms badly in need refurbishment, bathroom not clean, shower curtain stank and hot tap dripped continously. Food reminiscent of 'school days'. Thank goodness only for one night. Only advantage was position - opposite the pier.

Never again

WOW ! FAWLTY TOWERS!

one star

my goodness where to start!, I think in some ways I'm glad we stayed there as it was so terrifically awful its managed to give us a few laughs today ! the car parking is located 0.8 miles away in the ncp carpark, and when your done in with a long journey a 10 minuet walk with your luggage is not so appealing , especially if you were on your own and its dark!! I got to see 4 rooms as we were part of a wedding party , and they were all filthy old , wrecked and dusty ... the fact the only the bed sheets and towels were crispy white dosn't qualify for what I would class as a clean room, do they hae a hoover .. duster ... mop .....? anything ?? ive come to the conclusion they have a laundry service they use and thats it. well the ceiling fell through in and along corridor because some one was having a bath above .... it would have been a lot less of a leak had the staff done something when first tiold about the leak ..... instead they had to be reminded 30 mins later when we looked again to find it was rather a lot more than a small leak by that time ... there must have been a few rooms that got leaked into as well as the corridor . after that i looked at a lot of the ceilings to find quite a lot of large patches dotted about the hotel so must be fairly common , my friend was in what aparantly was a luxary room ..it was far far worse than any of our partys rooms , it looked as if someone had had a fight in there smashed lights dented shades and really filthy ... and was down a very noisey squeeky creaky old maze of corridors and corners at the end where it wasd a dead end ... I have no idea how it possibley fitted with fire regs. plus you could smoke , the policy the receptionist said was if you have an ash tray in your room you can smoke .... if you dont you cant ! well just to add to it her windows were jammed shut too and full length floor to ceiling very rotted out frames and very thin fragile looking panes of glass too..... and a tiny rail the other side abiut knee high at the most ! only 3 storeys to fall if you happened to trip on there dodge carpet and fall into window !!! my freind balcony was very scafolding looking and i choose not to bother standing on it just incase . there was a tramp who wandered in smelt of wee and drunk wandering round the lobby askin where the loos were ... so nobody semed the slightest bit bothered about this at the desk so i showed him the direction and hope he wee'd alover the floor so they get to clean it up ..... which i doubt they would .. so there you go , nice a secure from people wandering in , we got 2 rude wake upcalls that we never wanted , and then a random alarm that went o for 30 secs at the crack of dawn ... my friends room was cleaned when she hadnt put the service this room card on the door , she wasn appy as they had gonr to the trouble of deciding what was rubbish around the room and thrown out a couple of lids from her toiletrys in te process , very small but annoying thing to have to throw out or risk spilling your products every where because of there ignorance ! you know i could go on at length about the state of the place , it really was quite unbelivable how bad it was ... it needs an award for its cheek to charge people to stay there , I think ill stay at the night shelter next time .

COULD NOT EVEN READ A PAPER.BATHROOM WAS GRUBBY.WE LEFT AFTER ONE AWFUL NIGHT.UNFORTUNATELY WE WERE WITH A COACH PARTY SO JUST HAD TO FIND OUR OWN WAY HOME ON THE TRAIN.WE HAVE COMPLAINED AND HOPE TO BE COMPENSATED FOR THE NIGHTMARE WE EXPERIENCED.

Can't wait to leave

one star

I liked nothing about this Hotel : 1. One lift for all these rooms 2. Discourteous staff especially in the so called dining room that you needed to be size zero to get between tables!!! 3. Food unpleasant 4. Bar area curtains falling off curtain rails and furniture falling to bits - again unhelpful staff who wanted to close the bar at 11.00 p.m. (one member of staff was very helpful he kept it open until well after 12.30 a.m. his name was Ben. 5. Our room curtains falling off rails but was the best thing about the hotel and it was cleaned every day with fresh towles. 6. THE HOTEL NEEDED A COMPLETE OVERHAUL INSIDE AS WELL AS OUTSIDE!!
