Every year we come and stay at the DoubleTree in Chicago over the Christmas week. We have two children (ages 2 & 4), with the rooms being suites we are always very comfortable. The pool is very nice, the location is excellent. We almost always pay around $100 a night during the weekdays. It makes our stay in Chicago wonderful every year. The cookies are great. Valet is always prompt and curtious. All staff, from front desk to housekeepers are excellent. We highly recomend this hotel.

Just returned from a great weekend, which we stayed at the Doubletree chicago. The hotel looked great, each and everyone we came in contact with were great and they cared. Upon arrival, we were in a hury, we gave the bellman three bags and he gave us a claim ticket. We got back very late, our bags were in our suite and we did not have to locate them or drag them upstairs. We had breakfast at the restaurant and that was one of the best I had.

I came to this hotel expecting it to be top notch. It wasn't bad, but it certainly wasn't as good as I expected. The rooms were comfortable but nothing to write home about. The staff were friendly. The quality of the food in the cafe and room service was poor (overcooked/burnt, soup served in a coffee cup). This chain of hotels is famous for giving-out chocolate chip cookies when you check-in. Don't count on it. The best thing about this hotel is the location. It's a few blocks from Water Tower Place and the rest of Michigan Avenue. In summary, this is an average hotel in a great location.
