I have stayed at the Hotel Uhland each time I visit Munich. A tolerable walk from the train station to the hotel is perfect after a long train ride from Frankfurt! The hotel is very clean, spacious rooms, quiet streets, wonderful breakfast each morning and extremely helpful staff. All make for an enjoyable experience. Only 3 blocks from the Oktoberfest grounds make it a great place to stay! Walking to the heart of the old city is a good walk, but we always walk. The staff can book tours for you, it is close to the S-bahn stops, and there is off street parking if you are driving. I've always booked via the internet without problem.
