We highly recommend this hotel and staff

We have stayed at this hotel three times now and each time have been made to feel welcome. The staff, accommodation and food is second to none. We always receive a warm welcome and the staff are very friendly. It is a real pleasure to go out during the day and return here in the evening. A real home from home. The only thing we dislike is coming away.

Me and Paddy loved it

Fantastic location and olde worlde charm, cheerful happy staff and great local bitter. Toilet seats aren't very reliable but the food is good. Great local night life - me and Paddy had a real hooly. Local wenches are a bit in short supply but they leave a teddy bear on the bed. Can't wait to go back.

Disgusting food and rude staff

We had Christmas lunch here and will never ever return. There was a big group of us and we were all asked to choose what we were going to eat a month and a half beforehand and asked to pay the full amount beforehand. We felt like we were at a funeral the staff were so miserable – not one smile all day. The starter was pretty much non-existent and disgusting, the main was dry and bordering on inedible and the pudding…well you could hardly see it it was such a measly portion. The worst part was the manager’s and the staff’s uncaring, unbothered attitude. When we asked if we could speak to the chef, we were told he was too busy – the restaurant was almost empty at this point. We concluded that either they were extremely rude and really did not want to be bothered or there simply was no chef. The latter was probably the case considering the dismal state of the food – it tasted as if it had been pre cooked and simply warmed up on the day. There was no explanation, no apology and we all walked out feeling as if we had been robbed. We wouldn’t have paid £7 for that meal let alone £70 EXCLUDING wine. Please, unless you want to feel very unwelcome, eat disgusting pre cooked food and walk away feeling like you have been robbed, do NOT go here.
