Thought the hotel was great with it candlelit ambience and fantastic location. However, check in staff were not very friendly and managed to mess up my taxi bookings big time. Also, could have done without the food poisoning with the chicken dish I ordered through room service. My colleague who also stayed at The Valencia that weekend also ordered the chicken and was violently ill also. We received no compensation for that. Beds were very comfortable and would stay there again.

Hotel Valencia is one of the best hotels I've every stayed at. It's beautiful in every sense - the architecture, furniture, lighting and atmospher is all very relaxed and comforting. The rooms are beautiful with dark carpeting, dark wood furniture and bright, immaculate bathrooms as a contrast. The beds are all adorned with a faux mink throw and the sheets from Poggesi are the softest ever. The staff is very friendly and all occasions that I or a guest has stayed there, we've had our rooms upgraded. I highly recommend this hotel - as a stopover on a trip or for a relaxing getaway weekend!

The first impression I got when I walked into the hotel lobby was 'dark'. The decor gives off a very melancholy, dark, understated high tech feeling. I love the technology this hotel includes, such as high speed internet access and Cisco IP phones. And at the same the hotel doesn't flaunt their technology. Rather, it makes you feel that it's not unusal and that all hotels should have technology on the same level as them. I love the luxurious feeling fur blanket that tops the beds. The bed underneath is also ultra comfortable. The hotel is located inside Santana Row which will keep you entertained for hours without ever stepping outside of it

A beautiful hotel, full of character defined mostly by the lighting and design. There were however small problems with the service. It's clear that a lot of management's efforts are going into Citrus, the in-house restaurant, the hotel bar, and the wine bar (all beautiful establishments). I would wait about 6 months on this hotel - while they can focus on guests' needs and while the condominium construction progresses so you have more than dirt to look at out your window.

This hotel offers all the amenities. Staff is great!! The rooms are a breath of fresh air...very different. Feels like a European vibe. All in all I would highly reccomend this as a place to stay for anyone visiting the area. There is also great shopping in walking distance and it is very close to major highways.

Nice rooms and staff, located in a lively area with decent night
life.
Has a great bar (and looks like very popular by the lines outside
which you can cut by showing your room key) and a nice sushi place
downstairs.

This hotel is very nicely appointed, with a fusion Spanish/Asian feel. For
example, spanish-looking alabaster tile competes with the faux rice-paper
screen sliding door to the bathroom. The effect is impressive, and the
stay is extremely comfortable, comparable to a Westin or simlar, but with a
more personalized touch.
The location, in the Santana Row district
of San Jose, offers very nice shopping and dining. It is well within
driving distance to most Valley businesses.
There is a courtyard on
the 3rd floor, surrounded by a restaurant and the bar. The bar is very
modern and lively at night with a young hip crowd. The pool on the 5th
floor offers nice views, and is nicely decorated with comfortable
marble.
Overall, the staff were very courteous and helpful. The
only complaint I have is that they forgot to give me the mini-bar key, and
although I called them and asked for it, it still did not arrive. I had to
pick it up at the desk, but that's a minor point. The valet parking
staff was helpful... they did not seem overly concerned about receiving a
tip, but were thankful nevertheless. Be warned though, that valet parking
will cost you about $15 per day, if you are concerned about that there is
some parking around the back of the hotel.
The room amenities were
first-class, including complimentary internet access. They have fancy
Cisco phones, with a large LCD screen, that may seem intimidating to some
people. Many hotels will leave a newspaper outside of your door; I
didn't find one, but did find free newspapers at the comlimentary
breakfast buffet (which was very good except for the thin coffee).
I
would have liked to have seen more signs throughout the hotel, indicating
where things were located. For example, the lobby and registration desk is
located on the 3rd floor, so when I got there I had to ask where it was
(minor point).
Overall, you will be impressed with the luxurious
surroundings. It was a very pleasurable stay.

One of the most beautiful hotels I have been to, the rooms are great, the
bed was so comfy I hardly woke up in the morning.
I will definitely stay
there again in my next business trip.
