The W San Francisco is a fffabulously pleasurable place. The have addressed the entire customer experience from the moment you step in. From the slick lobby to the glamorous martini bar, you'll feel like a rock star, and in my case, minus the groupies.

I love this hotel. Love it love it love it. It's the only place I think of staying on trips to San Francisco and it's like home. The great snacky-type room service menu, available 24 hours a day, is exactly what I want if I'm not out at some great San Francisco restaurant. Like all Ws, the bed is something my bed at home can only aspire to.

This is a great hotel to stay in in SF. Everything is so close by. The hotel is quite decent and reasonably affordable. It's perfect if you're going to an evening Giants game at SBC Park and don't want to drive down to South Bay or further after you've had a few beers!

Great atmosphere if you are looking for a hotel that has an attitude and
are willing to pay for it. If you are attending an event at Yerba Buena or
Pac Bell Park (hint: no locals call it SBC Park, like Candlestick is still
Candlestick ;) or if you don't mind a 2-3 block walk, the location is
great.
I really like the W for its great atmosphere and bar, but
when I'm with my kids or in SF for work, I tend to stay at other hotels
closer to the downtown.

I stayed at the W in SF for the weekend for a friend's wedding. It is one of my favorite places to stay to really experience the city. You are in walking distance to The Museum of Modern Art, Nordstrom, Macey's and a lot of other great places to shop. Plus there are great restaurants to walk to (LuLu's being one of my personal favorites). If you visit during the holidays get a room that looks out on to the square; SF creates a winter wonderland, outside ice rink and all. The regular rooms are a little small but the suites are big. It is not a problem because the rooms have special touches that more than make up for a lack of room. There are window boxes, REAL bedding not the horrible polyester usual hotel stuff, nice puffy white robes as well. The style of the W is very modern but with out sacrificing any comfort like some other place. To top it all off, there is a really swanky bar called the XYZ bar that is right down in the lobby. Nice place to just go to people watch all night or a great start to a night of fun in the city. If you can't tell already I highly recommend.
