Great location! Room was small, but nice view overlooking Union Sq. Service was very friendly. Parking was difficult.

Good, clean hotel. Staff was very polite and helpful. The rooms are not huge, but what was needed for one night. Good location downtown. Doormen outside are probably the most clever part. I would stay there again on business.

Had a great room with a view on Union Square, the front desk accomodated us nicely. The room and bed were very comfortable. We were on the 19th floor and there was some noise from the starlight room but nothing overwelming, it stopped by 1:30am (I'm sure it would have been a lot louder on the 20th floor. The bell men helped us with directions when needed. A great location for the cable car and shopping. Some of the decor in the room could be updated but for the value and location would highly recommend this hotel.

I have to say that we had a great experience at the Sir Francis Drake hotel. The front desk was very accomodating in finding us a room with a great view of Union Square. They also allowed us to check-in earlier than the normal time. The room was very comfortable and well appointed. When I requested fresh towels, the room service employee even offered to bring bath robes as well. The hotel was centrally located in the heart of the shopping district, the cable car passed in front of the hotel and was only a few blocks from the BART/MUNI stations. I would highly recommend this hotel and plan to stay here again in the future.

Hi, I did not stay at the hotel above. I stayed at a Quality Suites in Ontario, Canada. I think you have some bad data in your system. Don't worry, bad data seems to be everywhere these days... Thanks

If you're traveling on an expense account there are better options, but the grand old Sir Francis Drake comes at a pretty good price in exchange for being slightly down at the heels--carpets are a bit worn and even the staff seem to be on the old, tired side. The rooms are smallish but clean and comfortable. And the location on Powell St., just off Union Square and super convenient to shopping, dining, the Theatre District, and Chinatown, can't be beat. After the boom years in the 1990s there aren't a lot of SF hotels that still retain the ambiance of a bygone era. This is one of the survivors.

The location is great. The cable cars go right by the front door. China
town is about 2-3 blocks away.
The only problem is that the rooms
are fairly small. But you don't visit to stay in the room.
The
service was great.
I'll probably stay next time I visit.
