A great surprise. The Midland is no longer run by Crowne Plaza and is in the process of being refurbished. My room was on the top floor, where until recently the cheap attic rooms were past their best, but now they are are clean and modern with good bathrooms, internet access and some hip touches. Location is good and the hotel has places to sit after a meal - unlike the Radisson two doors away! No parking, though.
