Great beauty, small country

I stayed at the Cahal Pech Village resort for 5 days in february and loved it. Medium priced and slightly rustic, they provided for all my needs from pick up at the airport to arranging tours to the Mayan ruins. the guides they provided were first rate. And San Ignacio was close enough to the border for a dynamite day trip to Tikal in Guatemala. I know we have a lot of natural beauty in the States, but I have never seen such a small area with so much. If you go, check out the Rio On pools, Mountain Pine Ridge, and rio frio cave. My only regret is not spending more time there. I might even move there permanently.
