Florianopolis is beautiful. Very local town. People are friendly and seemed to be very interested in meeting an American. I loved the food and the variety of beaches within a short car ride. Lots of places to see and experience but remember its a mostly unrefined place for Americans. Manual cars only, I met very few people who could speak English and its not a resort town just a great place to live for a brazilian. Also, I felt pretty safe there. Good life

This is the closest I have been to heaven. Everyone speaks English and Spanish and transportation is pretty is to get used to. Make sure you visit the beach calle Mole it's awesome.

floripa

The island of florianopolis not only offers you white sand beaches, good waves, warm waters, and cold beer. The shopping, culture, food, and night life is reason enough to visit this brazilian paradise. Not to forget the almost 3 to 1 dollar to real exchange rate. If you want to live like a rock star and be sounded by beauties of all sorts then floripa is the place to go.
